Friction and K-Tee run Elevate Records from Brighton, with dancefloor drum and bass at the centre of its releases. Turno, Voltage, Kanine, and Flava D are among its contributors, alongside Document One and Flowidus.
Friction’s debut album Connections is part of that catalogue, bringing producer partnerships and vocal tracks into a larger project. Its collaboration with Metrik, Ultrafunk, follows the label’s dancefloor direction. The album sits alongside releases from the wider roster, giving both the founder’s music and other artists a home under the Elevate name.
The vocal collaborations on that album bring several different singers into the label’s music, including Jem Cooke, JP Cooper, Doktor, Indiana, and Kiko Bun. Songwriting and dancefloor productions share the same project, with jungle references appearing alongside the producer partnerships. Connections gives that range room to develop across an album rather than presenting Elevate through one type of single.
