Mitekiss started Goldfat Records in 2015 to release his own music, before developing it into the label he runs with Mr Porter. A renewed release programme opened in 2019 with the posthumous Andy Skopes and Mr Porter single Where I’m From.
The Full Fat 01 compilation brings together the artist community that followed. The founders’ interest in music with soul leaves room for deeper, darker, and slower work alongside liquid drum and bass, with pyxis, Winslow, Athena, and IYRE among the artists involved.
Goldfat describes itself as a DIY collective, making releases around its members’ other commitments. Mitekiss and Mr Porter have emphasised sustained artist development and allowing those producers to keep their individual voices.
