Hospital Records was founded in London in 1996 by Chris Goss and Tony Colman, better known as London Elektricity. Melodic drum and bass became a central part of its sound, with High Contrast, Logistics, and Nu:Tone among the artists who built that reputation. The catalogue has grown to include music from Netsky, Camo & Krooked, S.P.Y, and Metrik, taking in soulful liquid, vocal-led records, and tougher tracks for the dancefloor.

Artist albums have been an important part of that catalogue. Netsky returned to Hospital with Second Nature in 2020, while vocalists Degs and SOLAH led their own projects with Letters From Ndegwa and King. For its 25th anniversary in 2021, the label released H25PITAL, inviting artists from across drum and bass to revisit its records through remixes, covers, reworks, and VIPs. The collection brought music from different periods of Hospital’s history together with new interpretations from label artists and guests.

Hospital went through a management buyout after Colman left in 2023. The label refreshed its team and signed newer artists such as Hoax and Gabriella Bongo, continuing to release liquid while opening the catalogue to other styles of drum and bass.

Hospital’s events brand, Hospitality, began with a residency at London’s Herbal in 2001. From those club nights it grew into international parties and Hospitality on the Beach, a drum and bass festival in Croatia.
