Deekline founded Jungle Cakes in London in 2009, with the early records drawing on the party-focused jungle of the Wildlife Collective. Deekline, Ed Solo, and Simon M were associated with that partnership, whose Sugar Me / Wadodem became part of the label’s first run of releases.
Represses have kept records such as I Need a Dollar / Bad Bwoy and Sensi / Ghost Town available to later listeners. Around that early catalogue, Jungle Cakes has continued releasing other producers, including JFB, Kleu, and T-Phonic, extending the label beyond the founding partnership.
