Moving Shadow began in 1990, and its catalogue follows the development of rave into jungle and drum and bass. Records by 2 Bad Mice, Foul Play, and Omni Trio are part of the early history, with Dom & Roland, Calyx, and Noisia among the later contributors. Breakbeats, jazz-influenced music, and harder productions all have a place in those releases.
The label documents more than 200 singles and 30 albums in its archive. Its compilations brought regional scenes from across the UK together with international artists, while placements in film, television, games, and advertising took the music to audiences beyond record shops and clubs.
Moving Shadow’s present work concentrates on keeping that back catalogue available and preserving its history, with artist and release information maintained through its website and associated channels.
