Dave Shichman & T:Base – Make Me Stay

A melody can arrive anywhere. For Dave Shichman, the words and vocal melody for Make Me Stay took shape while walking through Mexico City in the rain. The collaboration with German producer T:Base now arrives on Vibe City, with an exclusive premiere on Drum and Bass UK.

As Dave explains in our interview, T:Base sent over a work in progress with melodies and drums already in place. Dave added guitar and further melodic parts before developing the vocal. It is a process that draws directly on his background as a songwriter and musician, bringing his own performance into the production.

The track forms one half of Dave’s Vibe City debut, alongside his collaboration with Puerto Rican duo NRV, Leave It All Behind. The release connects the New York artist with collaborators in Germany and Puerto Rico, with Dave’s vocals featuring on both tracks.

Listen to Make Me Stay on Drum and Bass UK’s YouTube and SoundCloud channels. The release is available through Beatport and Spotify from 18 September, ahead of its worldwide release on 2 October.
