On Fire
Hugh Hardie
‘On Fire’ by SOLAH and Hugh Hardie is a masterful summer liquid cut, fusing jazz-infused melodies, emotive vocals and deep rolling bass on Hospital Records.
SOLAH and Hugh Hardie return with another liquid soul gem on Hospital Records, and On Fire might just be their most emotive collaboration yet. Released in the height of summer, it’s a track that radiates warmth but also carries the weight of something deeper. Piano stabs ripple through velvety basslines, while SOLAH’s voice weaves effortlessly between melancholy and uplift. The result is a refined, euphoric slice of liquid that feels both timeless and fresh.
There’s a distinct jazz influence here, not just in the harmony but in the flow. Hardie’s production is subtle and expressive, allowing each element space to breathe. SOLAH’s vocal glides with emotional clarity, never forced, always poised. Together they craft a song that draws from drum and bass’s deeper lineage while sounding tailor-made for today’s dancefloors and playlists alike.
On Fire is soulful drum and bass at its finest. Expect to hear this on repeat throughout the summer and beyond.
