Aktive

Aktive is a drum and bass producer and DJ from Luton whose early listening included breakbeat and dubstep. His music brings melodic ideas into hard-hitting club production, with releases across DeVice, Deadbeats, Viper Recordings, and UKF.

Higher was an early breakthrough in 2021, followed by a growing catalogue of singles and collaborations. Know By Now appears on Deadbeats, while One More Time and Loko are among his UKF releases. Those records give listeners several starting points for a producer whose work has reached different corners of the scene.

Collaboration is another part of that catalogue. Wait For Me paired him with Georgie Riot, while work with Toronto Is Broken and Christina Rotondo placed him within the rock-influenced drum and bass of Clare. He also joined Samstone on a reworking of The Cardigans’ My Favourite Game.

His releases have earned support from artists including Sub Focus, Kanine, and Matrix & Futurebound. The common thread is drum and bass made for the club, but his collaborations leave space for different voices and influences, from vocal hooks to the meeting of electronic production and rock songwriting.
