Concussion is a UK-based drum and bass DJ, producer and label owner best known for his work with Beast Music. Originally from Mid Wales, he began his musical journey as a bass guitarist before discovering electronic production in the mid-2000s. His deep-rooted passion for heavy basslines and intricate sound design eventually led him into the darker corners of drum and bass, with a focus on neurofunk and tech-driven sounds.
In 2021, Concussion launched Beast Music as a platform for his own material and a home for like-minded artists pushing high-impact, underground drum and bass. Since then, the label has gone from strength to strength, marked by standout collaborations with Redmond, Illinformed, MC GQ and Maddy V. Tracks such as Ramped Up, Life On Tick and Flick The Switch have highlighted his distinctive production style, often combining cinematic elements with ferocious energy designed for the dancefloor.
Alongside his studio work, Concussion has built a strong reputation as a live performer, appearing at major UK festivals including Boomtown, Glastonbury and Nozstock. His sets blend heavyweight beats with carefully curated selections, reflecting both his technical skill and deep connection to the culture.
With Beast Music entering its third year and a growing catalogue of forward-thinking releases, Concussion continues to cement his role as both a producer and tastemaker in the evolving drum and bass landscape.
