Dan HabarNam is a Romanian electronic producer whose catalogue reaches beyond drum and bass into ambient music and broken techno. Releases on Cylon Recordings and Exit Records brought him into the drum and bass sphere, but the records that followed often moved away from its familiar structures.
His debut album, From the Known, arrived on Exit in March 2012. Reviewing it for Resident Advisor, Andrew Ryce described an ambient record whose occasional beats suggested techno and other bass music, rather than a conventional drum and bass album.
He later established Selectie, releasing techno on his own imprint before working with Bristol's Idle Hands. The label's Draw Your Pattern EP, released in March 2018, paired High Pass Rambo with the title track and presented his approach as hard-hitting broken techno. His own releases have also included The Machine, Two Lights On The Same Side, and Dolby Centaur.
