Dextems began in Samara in 2006 as the drum and bass partnership of Eugene Piskov and Jaroslav Stolyarenko. Their early work drew on technoid and techno-influenced drum and bass. Both were studying at an aerospace university, and they connected their fascination with complex machinery and high technology to the music they were making.
That early period included Harder Louder, a collaboration with B-Soul released on Future Sickness Records in 2009. In 2013, their four-track release for Obscene Recordings brought together Bad Blocks, Rancor, Foetus, and The Voyager. Obscene described the four tracks as hard, rolling productions.
Later releases connect that history to Neuropunk Records. Blindsight appeared through the label in 2024 and is also documented on the duo’s own artist account. Their catalogue reaches across releases for Melting Pot and Ignescent too, with Berzerk on the former and Intruder on the latter’s Ignescent Chronicles 007.
