Behind the music
About Fox Stevenson.
Fox Stevenson makes electronic music with a songwriter’s ear. The British singer and producer, formerly known as Stan SB, brings pop-punk and indie influences into drum and bass, with his own voice carrying songs that work as much beyond the rave as they do in a DJ set.
His 2019 debut album Killjoy followed a catalogue spanning labels including Monstercat, Disciple, and UKF. Tracks such as Bruises, Go Like, and Out My Head helped establish the combination of vocal hooks and club production, while his live show developed into a three-piece with vocals, guitar, and drums.
For Sunk Cost Fallacy, many songs began as acoustic demos. He kept their shape as he built the electronic production around them, sometimes removing the guitar without losing the emotional movement it had helped him find. Speaking to EDM Identity in 2026, he described the album as his most intimate songwriting to that point.
The live band and DJ sets serve different purposes, too. The band lets him move from quiet guitar-and-vocal moments into the full production; a DJ set gives him room to share influences and other people’s records. Both come from the same love of songs and dance music.
