Feint is a British drum and bass producer drawn to the space between club music and songs you can live with at home. Vocals, melody, and film scores have all shaped that approach, with releases through Monstercat and collaborations including Laura Brehm, Koven, and Fox Stevenson.
Growing up in Blackburn, he discovered drum and bass through Pendulum and the early Liquicity uploads. Camo & Krooked and Netsky were particular favourites. After studying computer science, he decided to pursue production, gradually moving from experimenting with tracks to paying close attention to their writing and sound.
His interest in cinematic music reaches beyond obvious action-film drama. He has spoken about loving Ryuichi Sakamoto’s score for Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence without having seen the film, and about wanting his own music to carry feeling outside a club setting.
That was the intention behind Words, his collaboration with Laura Brehm. Rather than choosing between a vocal song and a record for a large sound system, he wanted it to work in both situations. The broader catalogue also leaves room for deeper and heavier ideas, alongside the melodic writing that first brought many listeners to him.
