FX909’s route into drum and bass began with techno DJing in Paris during the mid-1990s. By the early 2000s he was producing and performing alongside DJ Volta, before signing to Defunked in 2004. Liquid funk became a substantial part of his work, with releases for Fokuz extending an approach built around Rhodes keys, vocals, pads, and club-focused rhythms.
He paused production under the FX909 name in 2010 and returned to it in 2019. That return included Undefined for Soul Deep Recordings, followed by the launch of his own FX909 MUSIC label in 2020. The imprint gave him a home for new music while opening space for other producers.
The self-released Liquid Heart album followed in 2022. Across 13 tracks, it revisited the liquid drum and bass that had remained part of his production practice. His catalogue also includes the Jungle Science series, while the wider label operation encompasses Heart Twice, Solocat, and SANDELLA MUSIC. Those outlets cover different areas of his interests: drum and bass runs through the first three, while Sandella leaves room for electronic dance music beyond any single style.
