Harry Shotta

Harry Shotta is a British rapper and drum and bass MC whose approach grew from a childhood fascination with hip hop. He learnt records word for word before writing his own lyrics, and appeared on his first release at 11. That grounding in rap has remained part of his work at different tempos.

After studying Commercial Music at Westminster University, he became increasingly involved in drum and bass. An invitation to MC at Notting Hill Carnival encouraged him to pursue it, combining his existing rap technique with the double-time delivery that had drawn him towards the scene.

His writing has also extended beyond records. The Twelve Months book explored the stories behind his mixtape of the same name, while Consequences took storytelling into an immersive format. These projects gave him ways to develop longer narratives alongside his live MC work.

In 2025 he joined High Focus Records and released Odyssey. He described the album as a return to his hip hop foundations, developed after reflecting on the death of his mentor and long-time collaborator Skibadee. Its 21 tracks connect that personal focus with artists from across his musical life.
