Taxman is Dominic Tindill, a drum and bass producer associated with Playaz Recordings and his own TXM catalogue. His brother is Original Sin, and the two also worked together as G Dub. His solo recordings have remained a separate strand of that musical relationship, with Too Bad and Original Ninja among the tracks discussed in interviews.
His jump-up background is explicit in his own account of making music. Speaking to LoveThatBass in 2021, he said that he had learned his craft in the style but found greater satisfaction when he stopped trying to meet its expectations. He described returning to the music that had first inspired him, rather than forcing another version of an earlier record.
His self-criticism extended to Creepshow EP, which he felt repeated ideas from Cool It Judy / Mega Death. The interview also describes DJ Hype encouraging him to pursue originality. Taxman’s comments provide a useful account of the decisions behind his records, beyond the assumption that a long-running label connection guarantees an unchanging sound.
In 2026, Time's Up EP brought him back to Playaz for his first solo release there since 2022. Its four tracks include E.Y.G, Xtro, and an updated Evasion. His artist-controlled Bandcamp also carries TXM releases and dubpacks, preserving an additional route for his original music.
