About Keeno.
Keeno is Will Keen, a British composer and producer who brings orchestral writing into drum and bass. His musical background includes piano, clarinet, guitar, and singing, and that interest in played instruments runs through his recording work and live performances. He describes his music as orchestral drum and bass, with melody and composition central to the project.
His debut album, Life Cycle, appeared through Med School in 2014. Further albums developed that approach before I Live, I Learn arrived on Hospital Records in 2020. The latter brought together solo writing and vocal collaborations across 14 tracks, with Severn Summers representing the liquid side of his work. His catalogue also includes music written specifically around the meeting of an orchestra and drum and bass.
In 2022 Keen founded his own label, Keeno Music. The venture gave him a separate home for releases and events, including the Courage EP and anniversary projects involving other writers. His live format has since developed around piano and a string quartet, with Vibre Strings joining him on stage. By 2026 the project also encompassed the double album LIGHT / DARK, extending a body of work in which live instrumentation is part of both the composition and its presentation.
