Linear is a UK drum and bass producer and DJ associated with Leeds, with music on Detached Audio, Differential, C Recordings, and Nu Venture Records. His work for Detached Audio places liquid drum and bass alongside funk and jazz influences, while leaving room for slower material.
The relationship began with It's Jazz Half the Time, released in 2018. Linear returned in November 2019 with Peripheral Vision, his debut EP for the label. Its four tracks moved between instrumental drum and bass and the downtempo Unknowing. On Icebreaker, he worked with label founder K2T, bringing another producer into an otherwise solo project.
June 2020 brought the follow-up, Lost In Sight. The title track drew on Rhodes and saxophone, while Loose Change used guitar hooks, details highlighted by Detached Audio in its account of the release. Return and Calling completed the four-track EP.
