Rizzle is a Bournemouth drum and bass producer whose records move between melody, minimal grooves, and darker rolling bass. Before production, he sang in screamo bands; friends with decks introduced him to mixing, and making his own tracks soon became the next thing to try.
Ascension on Dispatch Recordings was a turning point. He had expected to release the tracks elsewhere, so Ant TC1 offering to sign them gave him a welcome boost in confidence. Further Dispatch records followed, including Provocation, while releases on Vandal Records and Symmetry Recordings helped develop the catalogue.
His debut album, Twilight Tones, arrived on Dispatch in 2021. The title captures a contrast he had already been chasing: music caught between light and dark. All 15 tracks were intended to work in a club, with gentler moments built into the tunes instead of separate interludes. Wingz, GROUND, and Black Barrel joined him on collaborations.
The Fragments EP brought another milestone on Metalheadz. Goldie asked him to write two minutes of music without an opening drum pattern, leading to the long introduction of Forgotten. Together, the album and EP show why atmosphere matters to Rizzle: the space before the drop is part of the record, rather than something to hurry through.
