Scott Allen is an American drum and bass producer, DJ, and the founder of Soul Deep Recordings. Raised in Seattle, he moved to Southern California for college, where hip-hop collecting led him towards breakbeat, early jungle, and ambient dub. Before concentrating on drum and bass, he performed as part of the Neosoul breakbeat project with Tim Andren.
The melodic and jazz-influenced side of drum and bass became a particular draw through the music of LTJ Bukem, MC Conrad, and Good Looking Records. Reggae and dub also feature among the influences he has discussed on his production.
Allen launched Soul Deep in January 2011, developing a label catalogue alongside his own releases for Fokuz, Celsius, Jazzsticks, Liquid V, and Good Looking. His album projects include Soul Signal, and he has worked extensively with Furney. With Chris and Tyler of Smooth N Groove, he also established the vinyl label Rhythm Syndicate Records.
