Signs are a Toulouse trio formed by Opsen, Primal Therapy, and Le Lutin in 2014. Their shared project moves between drum and bass, halftime, and other bass-music rhythms, with an interest in sounds that refuse to sit neatly in one lane.
Their releases have appeared on labels including Critical Music, Eatbrain, and DIVISION. The eight-track Skin Out, released by DIVISION in March 2017, is a useful introduction to the broader project. It brings their slower-feeling rhythms and detailed electronic production into focus rather than presenting a straightforward run of D&B tunes.
The contrast is part of the point. The trio’s official profile identifies halftime and future-beat music alongside their drum and bass work, and their catalogue includes both solo Signs releases and collaborations. Listeners arriving from one side of that output may find a very different rhythm waiting on the next record.
Skin Out and the later Naegleria release bring that curiosity into the studio. The collective gives three producers with their own musical backgrounds a place to test ideas together, whether the result is a direct club track or something built around a less familiar rhythm.
