Behind the music

About Skepsis.

Skepsis is Scott Jenkins, a British producer and DJ whose bassline beginnings developed into a substantial drum and bass catalogue. He first became known through tracks such as Goes Like, but his later records include both jump-up and more vocal-led dancefloor material.

He began learning production at school, where new computers running Logic gave him a way to make music. DJ lessons and house-party bookings followed, then unfinished bootlegs uploaded to SoundCloud. In a MusicRadar interview, he recalled taking a CD into his university’s student-union office and making the night’s organiser listen to it. By graduation, the bookings had become enough to pursue music full-time.

His debut album, Faith In Chaos, arrived on Crucast in 2021. Know What It Means, featuring Raphaella, was an early part of his renewed focus on drum and bass. In 2023 he worked with Turno and Charlotte Plank on Rave Out, followed by Green & Gold with Rudimental, Plank, and Riko Dan.

By the time of his 10th-anniversary tour in 2025, he was using longer sets to connect his early bassline records with the music he was making then. He told Mixtape Madness that the audience’s response still made Goes Like worth playing, even though he could hear how far his production had moved on. His later collaborations include Been Here Before with Disrupta and Klaudia Keziah, and Feels Like Gold with Raphaella.
