Wellington’s SkOpus works across drum and bass, dubstep, glitch-hop, and other electronic styles. His DJ sets make room for liquid D&B and heavier material, while his own releases range from the Elevate EP to the hip-hop project Deracinated. His name combines scope and opus, reflecting the range of musical works he wants to make.
His drum and bass catalogue includes Calibrate the Conscious with MC Tree and the T3K release Wub Style / Coalescence. Issued in 2023, the latter pairs a solo track with a collaboration with fellow New Zealand producer Fizik. Its deep and minimal D&B sits within T3K’s PROT3KT series, with proceeds directed towards BirdLife International’s owl conservation work.
SkOpus also releases music independently. Cool Down the Dance, released in 2022, takes jungle as its starting point, while his own catalogue includes the Perpetual Motion EP. His performance history extends beyond New Zealand to appearances at Let It Roll, Outlook, and Ministry of Sound.
