Soul Defiance is a drum and bass producer whose music has appeared through Metalheadz, Addictive Behaviour, Cause4Concern, and Deep in the Jungle. His own description of the work puts weight on depth and emotion, while more recent productions have also drawn on Eastern musical influences.
The Primordial EP, released through Deep in the Jungle in 2018, gives a clear introduction to his jungle recordings. Its tracklist runs from We Run It and Rudebwoy to Spread My Wings and Oblivion, with Chrissy B appearing on Man on a Mission. DJ Hybrid supplied a remix of the latter.
That distinction matters when following the record: the original vocal track belongs to Soul Defiance and Chrissy B, while Hybrid’s version is a separate interpretation. When I Wake later continued his connection with the label, with further recordings available alongside that early EP.
His artist biography also describes playing across the UK and developing music for M Ocean Records. Those different settings help explain a catalogue that reaches beyond one jungle release, with the dancefloor and more personal studio interests both part of his work.
