Bad Taste Recordings developed around Bad Company UK and a wider group of drum and bass producers. The first Bad Taste collection appeared in 2005, with the label’s account of its third volume naming Maldini and Vegas behind the continuing project.

The compilation history includes Audio, Optiv, Gridlok, Prolix, and The Upbeats. Individual projects include Current Value’s six-track Force Black, which the label describes through neurofunk, abrasive synths, forceful bass, and tightly constructed drums.

Bad Company UK’s earlier music remains part of the releases too. Spor and The Upbeats remixed Bullet Time, while Optiv and BTK revisited Spider. The Fear EP also returned through the reissue series.
