DJ Hype, Pascal, and DJ Zinc formed True Playaz in 1996. After Zinc left, Hype and Pascal relaunched the operation in 2006, making Playaz Recordings their main release outlet. Its jump-up catalogue includes DJ Hazard, Original Sin, Taxman, and Sub Zero, with Mr Happy and Killers Don’t Die among the records the label highlights in its history.
The wider crew also released Machete, Therapy, and Original Ninja. Associated imprints Ganja Records and Liq-Weed added other music to the operation, and introduced Hype and Pascal to Netsky. Label showcases had a regular London home, moving from The End to fabric, while the 2026 anniversary programme marked 30 years since True Playaz began.
