Dushi is a drum and bass producer and DJ from Brixton, with a sound shaped by London's clubs and free parties. Her music can move between hardstep, liquid, and jump-up, reflecting the variety she grew up hearing rather than a commitment to one corner of the genre.
Her first release, Dizzy / Carefree, appeared through Worldwide Audio in 2011. Hearing Dizzy as she arrived at a Warning night was a memorable confirmation that the music she had been making at home was reaching the dancefloor. Releases on Formation Records followed, bringing her work to another established drum and bass audience.
DJ Hazard became an important source of advice after hearing one of her bootlegs. His feedback helped her refine her tracks, and Dimensions was released through his Radius label in 2017. In an interview with UKF, Dushi spoke openly about perfectionism and the difficulty of deciding when a tune was finished. Encouragement from other producers helped her recognise those doubts as a shared experience.
Her releases also include Butterfly on Inform Records, while her DJ sets draw from the same broad interests as her productions. The link between those two roles is straightforward: she makes music with the energy of the nights that first drew her in, then brings that open-minded approach back to the decks.
