Drum & Bass Artist Profile, Discography & Events

Flytronix Drum and Bass Artist Image

Flytronix is the solo recording name of Danny Demierre, a producer whose drum and bass draws on jazz, funk, and a broad interest in recorded sound. His Moving Shadow catalogue includes The Rhode Tune / To Ya ! and the album Archive. His own artist page describes an approach centred on funk and atmospheric beats.

Released in 1998, Archive took two years to assemble. Demierre explained that it reflected the music he grew up with, while short vocal passages and effects created continuity between tracks in the manner of early rap albums. The record was conceived as a connected listening experience rather than a collection of unrelated club singles.

He brought vocal collaborators into that framework, including the Jazz Poets’ Remi and Roger and TC Izlam on Birth Of Da Kool. Earlier, The Rhode Tune had been written for Fabio as a tribute to the Speed club nights. The keyboard-led track became an identifiable example of his musical approach to drum and bass.

In July 2024, Night Breedz brought four recordings to his artist-controlled Bandcamp page through Over/Shadow. The release paired three previously unreleased tracks with a remaster of Protocol Roll. Its credits identify Demierre as writer and producer, extending the available solo catalogue through music preserved from his archives.
