Futurebound

Futurebound is Brendan Collins, the producer and DJ behind Viper Recordings and one half of Matrix & Futurebound. His work as a label owner runs alongside a recording career that spans solo releases, vocal collaborations, and the long-running partnership with Matrix. He founded Viper in 2004, giving him a role in both making records and developing the artists released through the label.

The collaboration with Matrix began in 2005 with Strength 2 Strength. Their albums Universal Truth and Mystery Machine sit alongside a run of singles that carried their music beyond specialist drum and bass audiences. Four reached the UK Top 40, with Control peaking at number seven. Those achievements belong to the duo, while Collins has maintained a separate solo catalogue.

His 2020 single Dangerous featured Tom Cane, a vocalist with whom the wider project had already built a working relationship. Looking back during Viper's twentieth anniversary, Matrix & Futurebound described the record as an expression of the label's euphoric sound, written during the first lockdown.
