HumaNature is André Soares, a Portuguese drum and bass producer with a taste for soulful melodies and finely balanced rhythms. Born in the Azores and raised for part of his childhood in the United States, he later developed his music in Portugal.
His early releases helped establish a liquid sound, with records on Fokuz Recordings, Celsius Recordings, and Soul Deep Recordings. Rather than relying on a single big hook, his music often leaves room for the atmosphere around it: a vocal phrase, a warm chord, or a rhythm that keeps moving without crowding the tune.
There is a darker side to the catalogue too. Binary / The Alchemist, released on Citate Forms in April 2016, was presented by the label as a more sombre turn in his production. It provides a contrast to the softer records without making them any less central to his musical identity.
The name also appears across collaborations with other producers, including Elephants in the Room with Jabaru on Dispatch Recordings. Taken together, these releases give a clearer picture than a single liquid tag: Soares can make space for warmth and melody, then turn the same attention to detail towards something heavier.
