Hybris is Evan Vischi, an American producer based in Prague whose drum and bass often starts with rhythm and a willingness to let an idea behave strangely. Releases through Invisible Recordings, Metalheadz, and Dispatch Recordings sit alongside the catalogue of his own Pseudoscience Recordings.
His studio methods are part of the story. In a music-making interview, he described using an Octatrack to generate and reshape material, while a portable OP-1 let him work on ideas away from the main setup. Sound design is a way of finding possibilities, rather than polishing the same familiar noises into a finished track.
Pseudoscience began releasing music in 2017, with Say Hello to the Future and Internet Expert among its early projects. The label also brought in MVRK, letting another producer work within the same deliberately playful identity. Its own description, a label curated by Hybris, keeps that relationship clear.
The four-track Not Bug EP followed in 2018. Vischi told Rendah that one track had confused a crowd when he first tested it, only for listeners to ask him about it afterwards. That was encouragement to trust an unusual idea: sometimes the part that does not immediately fit is the reason a record is worth finishing.
