Noisia are the Dutch production trio of Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen, and Thijs de Vlieger. Working from Groningen, they began releasing music in 2003 and developed a catalogue centred on detailed sound design, spanning drum and bass and other forms of electronic music.
Their debut album, Split The Atom, arrived in 2010, followed by Outer Edges in 2016. Alongside those records, their work includes I Am Legion, the collaborative project with Foreign Beggars, and music for games and performance. Those settings gave their production techniques applications beyond club releases.
The trio also built platforms around the music through their Vision Recordings label, radio broadcasts, and Noisia Invites events. These provided space for other producers alongside their own work, making the project more than a recording alias.
After announcing plans to end Noisia, they released Closer in 2022 and completed their farewell shows. In their album statement, they described sharing material from the period of exploration that followed Outer Edges, gathering work that had remained unfinished or unreleased.
In September 2026, Noisia announced that they were working together again. They confirmed December shows at Amsterdam's Melkweg, adding a second date after the first announcement. The return opens another chapter, but the trio have left its shape open. Their announcement confirms renewed collaboration and live appearances, without promising a new studio album.
