Jacky Murda is a jungle producer and the founder of Chopstick Dubplate, the collective built around reggae vocals, original productions, and exclusive records. Its music treats the soundsystem as a creative home: the singers, producers, and selectors all have a part in what reaches the speakers.
Chopstick began in 1998 and has worked with a changing circle of collaborators. Murda and Aries have been central to its studio and live identity, while RCola, Liondub, and King Yoof belong to different chapters of the project’s history.
The catalogue includes Notorious with Nanci & Phoebe and Congo Natty, alongside records with General Levy, Top Cat, and Myki Tuff. Those vocal relationships give the crew material made for its own sets rather than a box filled entirely with other people’s tunes.
King Yoof’s connection with Murda grew from sharing a Deptford studio during work on a Mr Williamz album. By the time he joined Chopstick in 2016, the collaboration was already established. Murda’s story is woven through those sessions and partnerships, with the Chopstick name providing a shared place for music that keeps reggae and jungle in close company.
