Logan D

Logan D is a jump-up DJ and producer whose Low Down Deep Recordings grew from a very practical need: he wanted new music that other DJs did not have. Returning to Kool FM after time away from gigs, he began paying producers for tracks, giving himself exclusive dubs and something to trade with other selectors.

The label developed around that underground approach. He has described himself as firmly committed to jump-up, even as fashions elsewhere in drum and bass changed. Its catalogue brought through producers including Turno, Serum, Voltage and Kanine, while Subway Soundz provided a route for newer artists.

His own production partnership with Dominator made records such as Giant Killer Bees and Hooligan. Logan has spoken about those collaborations with particular affection, and about the loss of a friend he regarded as a brother. Later work, including Snake, sits alongside that history in the Low Down Deep catalogue.

As part of Problem Central, he works with Majistrate, Eksman and Evil B, bringing DJs and MCs together as a full crew. Across those projects, the rave remains the point of reference: loud systems, close contact with the crowd and records that make sense when they are played out.
