LTJ Bukem is the DJ and producer Danny Williamson, whose musical background includes piano, drums, and jazz. Raised in Watford, he brought those interests into jungle, combining melodic arrangements and ambient textures with the rhythmic snap of drum and bass.
His Good Looking Records imprint became a home for that approach. The 1996 compilation Logical Progression brought together his own productions and music from the label's wider circle, presenting a coherent selection that worked beyond the dancefloor.
It was a compilation and DJ mix rather than a solo studio album. Bukem's first artist album, Journey Inwards, arrived in 2000. Keeping those releases distinct makes his catalogue easier to understand: selecting other producers' records has been as central to his work as making his own.
His long partnership with MC Conrad also helped define the presentation of this music. Conrad's vocals became part of the sound of their performances, bringing the interaction between DJ and MC into a style often associated with instrumental listening.
Bukem has continued sharing new selections through his official channel. His Fussy Listener Mix Vol. 3, published in February 2026, gives listeners a recent route into his DJ work alongside the recordings that established the Good Looking sound.
