Q Project is the solo recording name of Jason Greenhalgh, also known as Quiff and one half of Total Science with Paul Smith. His own recording identity predates that partnership’s familiar name. The artists’ official history places Freestyle Fanatic among his earliest releases and identifies Champion Sound as the recording that launched their Legend Records imprint.
His later solo catalogue includes Renaissance Man, released by Hospital Records in 2006. Its 18 tracks include Milk n Honey, Slowly But Surely, Computer Love, and Language Barrier. The label described the collection as ranging from rolling liquid funk to more forceful dancefloor tracks, reflecting the breadth of his solo production.
The distinction between Q Project and Total Science remains useful within that catalogue. Renaissance Man includes a Total Science remix of Living With Beaker, bringing the duo’s shared work into a collection built around Greenhalgh’s individual recording name. His official history separately identifies the pair’s joint Funky Technicians and Total Science projects.
In February 2023, his In Plain Sight EP returned to his own C.I.A. imprint with four new recordings. Alongside the title track, Every Time, Chapter 13, and Innerspace explored a mixture of edits, Amen breaks, halftime passages, and rollers. The release showed his continuing interest in multiple rhythmic approaches within the same solo project.
