Ripple bring together PmdR and Spill, linking the Czech and Slovak drum and bass scenes. They met in a Prague studio in 2017, arriving with different strengths: PmdR had built his experience as a DJ and promoter, while Spill had spent years developing his production. Their first release together, Portal / Infinite River, arrived on Skankandbass in 2018.
The partnership has made space for darker material alongside an increasingly melodic dancefloor approach. The Crypto EP on Space Pirate Recordings included a collaboration with Furious Freaks, while their own imprint provided a home for the 2021 debut album Effect. The duo have described drawing ideas from music beyond drum and bass.
Alongside releases for Elevate Recordings and Mainframe, Ripple became residents at Let It Roll. Their involvement in the scene also extends to Pulsation, the promotions company and agency they founded to represent artists and organise events in Prague.
