Synthakt is an Austrian drum and bass producer from Salzburg whose releases connect dark, atmospheric writing with the harder end of the genre. His catalogue brings together collaborations with Counterstrike, Limewax, Cooh, and Sinister Souls, alongside solo records for Culture Assault, Algorythm, and PRSPCT.
Culture Assault introduced his debut EP, Memento Mori, in June 2015, describing a producer drawn to classical and orchestral soundscapes. The four-track release included Among Spears and Shields with Cooh. The following year's Redshift - EP on Algorythm paired three solo tracks with I Believe, a collaboration with the label's founders, Counterstrike. Synthakt also worked with Limewax on Morons / Utopia, issued by L/B Recordings in October 2016.
That collaborative thread continued on Particle Radiation EP, his first EP for PRSPCT, released on 27 March 2019. Counterstrike joined him on the title track, while Sinister Souls featured on Halo. Three solo productions completed the five-track record, which the label placed at the harder edge of drum and bass and associated with crossbreed.
