goddard.

goddard. links up with Billy Lockett on ‘Live for Nothing’, a deeply emotive liquid DnB single from the new Here & Now EP. Warm, cinematic and vocally rich.

Released 1 August 2025

goddard. returns with the third single from his upcoming Here & Now EP, linking up with singer-songwriter Billy Lockett for a beautifully crafted slice of vocal-led liquid drum and bass. Live for Nothing is a powerful statement, pairing goddard.’s emotive production with Lockett’s raw, heartfelt vocal performance to striking effect.

The track opens in a space of restrained intensity, gradually building through warm pads, delicate piano textures and crisp percussion. As it unfolds, goddard. lets the weight of Lockett’s voice lead the arrangement into deeper territory. The result is cinematic and immersive, full of texture and nuance, yet with a clean rhythmic drive that keeps it rooted firmly on the dancefloor.

Billy Lockett’s vocal delivery is central to the track’s emotional pull. Known for his honest songwriting and distinctive tone, he brings a sense of vulnerability and lived experience that elevates the record. His presence feels fully integrated, not simply laid over the top, and it speaks to goddard.’s growing reputation for crafting meaningful vocal collaborations.

Live for Nothing follows the sharp energy of previous singles Rabbit Hole with Venbee and Bounce alongside Mutual, Inja and Dread MC. Together, they reveal an EP shaped by versatility, mood, and attention to detail. The Rabbit Hole label continues to push emotionally driven, forward-facing drum and bass, and this latest cut is arguably its most personal yet.

Live for Nothing proves that goddard. is operating at full strength. Emotionally charged but never overworked, it hits with clarity and feeling. The collaboration with Billy Lockett lands with purpose, showcasing a producer who knows exactly how to evolve his sound without losing its soul. As another standout from the Here & Now EP, it reinforces goddard.’s position at the forefront of forward-thinking liquid drum and bass.
