Aaron Spectre is a producer whose work moves between jungle, breakcore, and the hardcore punk of his Drumcorps project. Raised in Massachusetts, he began as a drummer in bands before computers gave him another way to work with rhythm, noise, and the music around him.
Time in New York and Berlin brought him into electronic music communities without erasing that punk background. Say More Fire and the Building the Panopticon EP belong to the Aaron Spectre catalogue, while Drumcorps gave the heavier combination of guitars and electronics its own name.
He has described jungle as a way to bring punk, reggae, and detailed breakbeat work together. The distinction between the projects matters: the records share a maker and some musical instincts, but a Drumcorps release is not automatically a drum and bass record.
Later Aaron Spectre releases include The Quickening, Create the Future, and Extraterrestrial. His own website keeps the two catalogues side by side, making it possible to follow the connections without flattening their differences. The DIY background is the thread through them, from playing in a band to making and releasing electronic music on his own terms.
