Dirtyphonics Drum and Bass Artist Image

Dirtyphonics are French electronic producers Charly Barranger and Julien 'Pitchin' Corrales. Their music moves between drum and bass, dubstep, and metal influences, making them a crossover act rather than a duo whose catalogue can be described by one tempo or subgenre. The tempo changes have their own history: Charly explained in a 2013 interview that Quarks began as half-time drum and bass before listeners described it as drumstep.

Their work with Monstercat includes Vantablack, an EP made with Sullivan King that places metal instrumentation and heavy electronic production alongside one another. The 2022 project What The French took a different collaborative approach, bringing established and emerging French producers into a shared release. It reflects their connection with a wider national bass-music community, beyond their own recordings.

The album Magnetic, released in May 2024, returned prominently to drum and bass while retaining changes of tempo. That range also informs their live presentation: their LIIVE and Elevated shows give the music a production-led stage setting. The Parisian duo have carried those different styles into both their recordings and their live shows. Listeners exploring their D&B recordings should therefore expect those tracks to sit within a broader catalogue, with the metal and dubstep material providing another part of the same musical identity.
