Ego Trippin are Matt and Ian, two producers whose individual histories reach back to jungle’s early years. Before the partnership, their records appeared on Splash Recordings and Juice Records, in the same circle as Undercover Agent and Majistrate. Working together brought that experience into a sustained run of drum and bass releases.
Their catalogue includes music for Frontline, Global Thang, Frequency Recordings, Finn People and Low Down Deep Recordings. Those connections place them across several generations of club-focused D&B, with jump-up remaining a clearly documented part of their own output.
Hi Def and Super Lit also give them a home for releases from their wider circle and their own material. Their direct catalogue includes Wasting Time, The Bad Guy and Powerful Weapon, alongside VIP collections and dub packs. The Ego Trippin OG Jump Up Pack Vol 1 is especially explicit about the sound, collecting tracks written and produced by the duo.
Their history is best heard across that spread of records rather than reduced to one label or release. The early jungle background belongs to two individual artists; the later catalogue shows what they built together. Both production and DJing have remained part of the partnership, with new originals sitting alongside alternate versions intended for the mix.
