Behind the music

About Logistics.

Logistics is the recording alias of Cambridge producer Matt Gresham. His route into drum and bass came through listening to guitar music and downtempo records before discovering the Full Cycle compilation Music Box. Those wider interests provide context for music that combines melody with a firm dancefloor focus.

He signed exclusively to Hospital Records in 2004. Alongside his solo releases, he works with his older brother, Nu:Tone, as Nu:Logic. The partnership gives the brothers a shared project alongside their individual catalogues.

His 2018 album Hologram drew on travel and field recordings as well as studio writing. In an interview about the record, Gresham described recording sounds during trips to Hong Kong and New Zealand, then incorporating material gathered outside the studio into the music.

He also spoke about moving between tracks rather than forcing progress on a single idea. Choosing collaborators meant finding voices that suited the songs, with the album developing through that combination of practical experimentation and musical fit.

In March 2026, Logistics released Earthling through Hospital. The 24-track album includes contributions from Charlotte X, Emilie Rachel, India Shan, and Kate McGill, with more live instrumentation and studio experimentation in its production. The record arrived during Hospital's 30th anniversary year, two decades after he signed to the label.
