Camo & Krooked are the Austrian production duo of Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner. Working together since 2007, they have developed a catalogue that moves between drum and bass, other electronic styles, and music arranged for an orchestra.
Cross The Line arrived on Hospital Records in 2011, followed by Zeitgeist in 2013. The duo continued developing their album approach with Mosaik in 2017, taking time to reshape its music as the project came together rather than treating the first finished versions as final.
Their work with Mefjus has become a substantial part of their output. Describing the collaboration, they have explained how ideas must satisfy all three producers before progressing. That process can mean discarding material, but it also creates room for a shared sound that differs from what any of them would make alone.
In 2022, the three launched MODUS as a home for their collaborative and individual releases. The label subsequently expanded to include work with other artists, extending that shared approach beyond their own partnership.
Another side of Camo & Krooked's work is Red Bull Symphonic, made with conductor Christian Kolonovits and the Max Steiner Orchestra. Reworking electronic music for orchestral performance brought their compositions into a different setting.
