Delta Heavy are British producers Ben Hall and Simon James, who met at university in Nottingham. Their partnership grew from a shared interest in electronic music, with drum and bass becoming a central meeting point for influences drawn from other club styles. Their dancefloor strand is documented on UKF releases, alongside the broader mix of tempos found elsewhere in the catalogue.
Their early releases included Abort on Viper Recordings in 2010, followed by Space Time / Take the Stairs on RAM Records. Those records introduced the duo's combination of large melodies and weighty bass production. Their third album, Midnight Forever, arrived in August 2024, giving that approach a longer, specifically drum and bass-focused setting.
Discussing the album with EDM.com, Hall recalled arriving at drum and bass through trance, progressive house, and breaks before experiencing the genre in a club. The pair described Midnight Forever as a love letter to drum and bass, with the sense of discovery associated with early nights out still feeding their work. The album also sits within a changed performance world: their memories of dark, smoky rooms contrast with the visual scale of later touring. Those experiences help explain a catalogue shaped both by the immediacy of a club track and by the atmosphere surrounding it.
