LSB is Luke Beavon, a drum and bass producer and the founder of Footnotes. His catalogue includes melodic solo records and an extended creative partnership with vocalist DRS, alongside his work selecting music for the label.
His debut album, Content, appeared through Soul:r in 2016. Footnotes followed in 2018, giving Beavon an independent home for his own releases and music by other artists. He and DRS also released The Blue Hour in 2019.
The nine-track solo project The Middle arrived on Footnotes in July 2026. Its title reflects a period of reassessment rather than a new musical alias. With no guest collaborations, the record grew from a small group of sessions and was written with listening away from the club in mind.
Beavon has described a shift from constantly making tracks towards waiting until he has something to express. That patience also informs Footnotes: when approaching an artist about an EP, he prefers to give them room to make their own record rather than repeatedly redirecting it. His roles as producer and label founder share that emphasis on trusting the music.
