SCAR began as a collaboration between Survival and Script, two producers with separate histories in drum and bass. After years as friends, they started working together in 2013. Their first session produced When, which Metalheadz selected for Platinum Breakz 4.
The project developed into an album partnership. The Orkyd Project arrived in 2016, followed by High Fives & Devil Eyes in 2019. Discussing that second record, the pair described complementary roles: Survival’s interest in strings, pads, and arrangement working alongside Script’s ideas for drums and samples.
Their third Metalheadz album, The Road Less Travelled, followed in 2022. It reunited them with Naomi Pryor, who had appeared on their debut, and added vocal contributions from 2Nick8 and KMRS. The label presented the record as a varied collection encompassing club tracks and more melodic material.
SCAR continued with the Shadow & Light EP in 2024. Survival, Stephen Kielty, and Script, Michael Borthwick, are both credited on the release.
