TeeBee is Torgeir Byrknes, a Norwegian drum and bass producer whose solo recording history is distinct from his partnership with Calyx. His artist catalogue identifies Bergen as his home and keeps his individual albums together, allowing listeners to follow that work without treating every duo release as a solo production.
The solo archive includes Black Science Labs (2020 Remastered), Through The Eyes Of A Scorpion (2020 Remastered), and The Legacy (2020 Remastered). All three appeared in remastered editions in 2020. He also co-founded Subtitles Music with Polar, establishing an additional outlet for drum and bass alongside his own recording career.
The Cosmic Carnival arrived on Flexout Audio in November 2025. In his UKF interview ahead of its release, TeeBee described handling the album’s mixing and mastering himself. He spoke about rediscovering musical possibilities and finding himself increasingly attracted to beauty rather than sinister moods, offering a personal account of the record’s direction.
The album contains 14 tracks, including Gun Tune, Space Dust, Cyborg Symphonies, and The Way. Flexout presents it as his first major body of work since the end of the Calyx partnership. Its place in the solo catalogue is therefore a specific chapter in Byrknes’s studio work, alongside the remastered earlier albums.
