Blu Mar Ten is a London electronic music project whose work has moved between drum and bass, jungle, ambient music, and wider electronica since the mid-1990s. Rather than settling into one narrow strand of the genre, the name has become associated with melodic, atmospheric production alongside tougher club-focused material.
The project’s first single, The Fountain, arrived in 1996 and established an early connection with the deeper end of jungle and drum and bass. Blu Mar Ten subsequently released music through labels including Good Looking Records, Hospital Records, 31 Records, Renegade Hardware, and Shogun Audio, reflecting a catalogue that has crossed several different corners of the scene.
Albums including Natural History in 2009, Love Is the Devil in 2011, Famous Lost Words in 2013, and Empire State in 2016 document that range in longer form. Their work has also involved vocalists, musicians, and fellow producers, while remix projects have connected the catalogue with artists including Calibre, Marcus Intalex, dBridge, Seba, Break, and Technimatic.
Blu Mar Ten also operate Blu Mar Ten Music, an independent label that has released work by artists including Kimyan Law, Frederic Robinson, Stray, Conduct, Wardown, and Whytwo. The imprint has increasingly become a home for detailed electronic music that sits around drum and bass without being constrained by it.
Recent activity has continued to balance new music with archive work. In 2026, Blu Mar Ten issued the first digital release of Sandstorm, a track written in early 1996 and recovered from DAT, while Blu Mar Ten Music released Jhauk’s debut album You Won’t Find Your Way From Here.
