M-zine is a Belgian drum and bass producer based in Vilvoorde. His releases draw on techno, hip-hop, soul, and funk, influences he identifies in his own artist biography. He began releasing through Proximity Recordings in 2011 with Peristaltic and Riddance, followed by a first vinyl release on Demand Records in 2012.
His catalogue expanded through Dispatch, 31 Recordings, and Warm Communications, with further work for Commercial Suicide, Critical, and Sofa Sound Bristol. Earlier collaborations with Scepticz preceded a move towards solo work in 2018.
Sofa Sound released his debut album, Know When You’re Ready, in 2023. Written largely during the pandemic, it developed an approach based on a small number of core elements rather than dense arrangements. Its 16 tracks include Sully, Watch Me Fall, and DYC. The label describes dub, techno, funk, and soul as foundations for the record’s warm, restrained production.
